Senior Hurling – Kilmallock v South Liberties

Senior Hurling Championship  – Saturday 13th September 2014 in Bruff 6:15 p.m.

Kilmallock 1-24  South Liberties 0-8

Played in glorious sunshine in Bruff last Saturday evening this turned out to be a much easier victory than we had expected and a better performance than we had even hoped for. Leading 1-14 to 0-4 at half-time, this game was practically over at the break with Kilmallock on top all around the field. The back-line dealt with everything that Liberties threw at them and with our midfield pairing of Eoin Ryan and Paudi O’Brien scoring freely this gave the space to our forwards to attack at every opportunity. In fact by the fifteenth minute of the game every player from number 8 to number 15 was on the scoresheet.

South Liberties could only manage four points in each half and this was down to tough defending by the backs and hard work by our midfielders.

Our next outing is a quarter-final pairing against Adare in The Gaelic Grounds on Saturday 20th September – throw-in 2 p.m.
