Feile na Gael Hurling 13th April 2014

Feile na Gael     Sunday 13th April 2014       11:00 a.m. Kilmallock

Kilmallock 1-2  Na Piarsaigh 4-8

This young team gave a spirited and committed display against a physically strong and much fancied Na Piarsaigh side. Na Piarsaigh had to work much harder than they expected for every score and it was only in the dying minutes of the game that they tagged on two goals to give the scoreboard a much more lop-sided look than our boys deserved after their gallant efforts. Josh O’Mahony, Brian Daly, Shane Enright, Jack Maguire, Dylan O’Brien. Conal Houlihan and Conor Hanley stood out for Kilmallock although all players must be congratulated for battling right up to the final whistle. Our forwards were starved of possession for long periods as the strong Na Piarsaigh side did not allow the sliotar beyond half-way and this put constant pressure on our back-line.

A lot of positives can be taken from this performance and we look forward to watching this team’s progress.
